Galveston's premiere Hot Yoga Studio
What people are saying about Island salt air...Come & See for yourself!
I love the studio! This is my first time doing yoga of any kind and I only gave it a shot because my friend insisted it was fun. She was right! I feel I'm getting a good workout, excellent flexibility training, and having fun! The instructors I've had so far (Melody, Shelby, Marissa, Figgs) are all incredible. Shelby is especially hilarious--I can't get her "happy boyfriend" joke out of my head :)
We attended Hot yoga for the first time last week and loved it.
I've taken classes with Marissa, Shelby and Rachel all of which are Amazing teachers! I really appreciate that they all have different teaching styles. I love that there are multiple class options in a single day. I LOVE the chilled lavender towels during savasasa! I really like that you guy's diffuse oils during classes. I enjoy the hands on because sometimes I can't see if I'm doing a pose wrong. I absolutely love starting my day with a hot yoga class, I find the teachers and students very inspiring! Namaste!
I loved the studio and I loved how everyone worked with you and it was a judgement free zone
I loved that the instructor locked the door after class began to prevent interruptions. Also, I really liked the lavender towels to cool off at the end. It really helped me a lot. I didn't know what to expect with the hot yoga and I really liked it.
I love your location (walking distance for me), the atmosphere, Marisa is great at talking novices through the poses without slowing the other students, and I like the schedule that allows me to go before work! Thank you!
I have found Island Salt Air to be an amazing yoga studio. I have loved all the instructors. They are so different, and bring a unique quality to each of their classes. It has been a great way to start my days, and am grateful that such an awesome place has opened up in Galveston. I love it!
The instructors are all great and I have enjoyed the classes as a first time yogi. :)
Love having a hot yoga studio on the island!!! The flow in the classes are challenging and rewarding. I also love the cold lavender towels- it's a nice touch. Overall, awesome studio! A+
I love the teachers, the music, switching the front of the class around, the beautiful space, the shower and the friendliness !
Shelby is a great instructor! As a beginner, hot yoga is strenuous but she definitely knows how to keep the pace manageable. It is obvious that she plans her routines as she is extremely meticulous in her teaching ability. She also makes it stress-free in emphasizing that we do not need to attempt certain poses if they are above our level. But again, she understands that many of us are just starting out, so she keeps the workouts demanding without making them technically too difficult. She is an A+ teacher - I really can't say enough about her!
I've been mostly attending the 6 AM classes with Marissa, and I have really enjoyed her kindness and nonjudgmental approach to the practice. She's excellent!
Tips for a better Hot yoga experience:
Keep your digestive system happy:
Avoid eating anything heavy before class
Be an early bird:
Plan on arriving 15 to 20 minutes prior to class
Curb your phone:
Don't be the one whose lovely rendition of Fur Elise interrupts a perfectly nice moment of relaxation
School your teacher:
Before class begins, let your instructor know if you have any injuries or medical conditions, or if you’re pregnant
Dress the part:
Wear comfortable (not-too-loose) clothes and remove shoes and socks.
It’s all about you:
If a pose feels uncomfortable or painful, don’t hesitate to let the teacher know and come out of the pose, even if the rest of the class continues with the sequence
